The kitchen offers pizza by the slice and elevated bar bites. You will find that it’s the bar you remember - a curated selection of over 1000 spirits, and cocktails from timeless classics to bold originals.

1979 has a rare opportunity for a Venue Manager to join the team. If you are someone who thrives in creating exceptional guest experiences, leading a high-performing team, and shaping the energy of a dynamic venue.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage rostering in alignment with budget forecasts and operational demands
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all menu offerings, ensuring team training and communication is clear and current
  • Partner with chefs and marketing to coordinate and execute weekly menu updates and printed collateral
  • Approve and coordinate quarterly beverage pricing updates in consultation with the General Manager
  • Monitor and report on key operational metrics, including wage costs, comps, wastage, and stock control
  • Recruit, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing, diverse team with clear structure and accountability
  • Champion a culture of passion, quality, and hospitality across all areas of the venue
  • Execute and support an annual training calendar covering food, beverage, service, and guest engagement

About you:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a similar leadership role within a high-volume hospitality environment
  • Strong knowledge of licensing laws, food safety and health & safety regulations
  • Proven track record of achieving financial targets and improving operational efficiency
  • Ability to handle high pressure situations and make strategic decisions
  • Proficiency in using POS systems, inventory management and financial reporting tools
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol and Gaming (RSA) (RSG) certificate
